Well, yesterday, after writing that last e-mail, I returned to my hostel to find out that my bed had been given to someone else! You see, at this particular hostel, you are only allowed to pay on a daily basis. If you pay by 11:00 in the morning, you are guaranteed a bed. Otherwise, you might be out of luck! Since I didn't return to the hostel until after 5:00, they were full up, and I had to go elsewhere. I ended up walking across town (don't worry, it wasn't all that far) to another hostel, The City Hostel. It was good, but not as good as Hotel Jørgenson, where I have been staying. When I went to to the City Hostel, I met a bunch of Americans, most of them from New York. In my opinion, most, if not all of them were LOSERS!!!! They seemed to prefer staying in the hostel, and talking mainly with other Americans! What a waste! Anyway, I don't have to bother with that any more, because this morning I hiked back to Hotel Jørgenson. They put me in a different room, which I have not yet checked out, since when I payed for it was just at the start of the lock-out period.
So, after I dropped all my stuff in one of the huge lockers they have at the hotel, I headed out to the national museum. I spent about four or five hours walking around looking at remnants from midevil Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. I was surprised to note that all the coins that were found from this period were extremely thin, about the thickness of sequins, like the aluminum coins that some of our gypsy women used to use for their coin bras. Perhapse this is actually more period? Something to discuss with the history buffs of the gypsies, I guess.
I believe that I am going to head back to the hotel/hostel (Don't worry, I'm confued too) and check out my room. After that, it's off to Tivoli, the amusement park that inspired Walt Disney to build Disneyland.
